Mono Ammonium Phosphate (MAP) 12:61:00 provides 61% phosphorus pentoxide (P₂O₅) — the highest phosphorus content among agricultural water-soluble fertilizers. The low solution pH (4.5–5.5) actively reduces alkalinity of irrigation water, improving phosphorus availability in soils above pH 7.0.
This acidifying effect significantly reduces phosphorus fixation by calcium and magnesium — a common problem in the Deccan soils of Maharashtra and Gujarat. MAP is the preferred phosphorus source during pre-flowering and root establishment stages.
Used as the phosphorus component in custom fertigation programs for grapes, pomegranate, tomato and vegetables. Also used for drip system descaling due to its acidic pH.
