Iron EDDHA 6% is the gold-standard iron chelate for correction of lime-induced iron chlorosis in strongly alkaline and calcareous soils (pH 7.5โ9+). EDDHA (ethylenediamine-N,N'-bis(2-hydroxyphenylacetic acid)) forms a far more stable iron complex than EDTA at high pH โ remaining plant-available when all other iron sources have precipitated.
The efficacy of Fe-EDDHA depends critically on the ortho-ortho isomer content. Our product guarantees a minimum of 4.8% ortho-ortho Fe โ the biologically active fraction that is absorbed by plant roots. Low-quality products may have lower o-o isomer content and inferior agronomic performance.
Fe-EDDHA must be applied to soil (not foliar) for maximum effectiveness. Soil application at pre-planting or early spring provides season-long iron nutrition for perennial crops. Used worldwide for citrus, stone fruits, strawberry, kiwi and ornamentals in Mediterranean and calcareous soil conditions similar to those found in Maharashtra and Gujarat.
