Yellow Leaves in Wheat

Common Causes

• Nitrogen deficiency — pale green-yellow
• Iron deficiency — young leaves yellow
• Sulphur deficiency — young leaves uniform yellow
• Yellow rust — stripe pattern disease

Treatment

Nitrogen: Urea 15kg/acre top-dress at tillering. Iron: Iron DTPA 0.5g/L foliar. Yellow rust: Propiconazole 0.5mL/L.

Prevention

Early N application, balanced S with Ammonium Sulphate.
