Common Causes of Yellow Leaves in Banana

• Nitrogen deficiency — uniform yellowing, older leaves first
• Iron deficiency — interveinal chlorosis on young leaves
• Fusarium wilt (Panama disease) — yellowing + wilting one side
• Banana bunchy top virus — pale green streaks on leaves
• Magnesium deficiency — edges yellow, centre green

Treatment

First confirm cause: soil test + leaf analysis. For N deficiency: apply Urea 46% or Calcium Nitrate via drip. For Fe: Iron EDDHA 6% soil application 1.5 kg/acre. For Fusarium: no cure — remove and destroy plant, treat soil with Trichoderma.

Prevention

Regular soil testing, balanced fertigation program, good drainage, use certified disease-free tissue culture plants.
