Common Causes

Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum) — soil-borne, yellowing + wilting
Bacterial wilt (Ralstonia) — sudden collapse, brown stem

Root rot — Pythium/Phytophthora in waterlogged soil

Treatment

Fusarium: No chemical cure. Soil drench with Carbendazim 1g/L preventive. Biological: Trichoderma 5g/L soil drench. Bacterial wilt: No cure — remove plant.

Prevention

Use resistant varieties. Soil solarisation before planting. Trichoderma application. Avoid waterlogging.
