Fruit Borer in Chilli

Common Causes

• Helicoverpa armigera — fruit borer
• Spodoptera litura — chilli borer + leaf defoliator
• Leucinodes orbonalis — shoot and fruit borer

Treatment

Helicoverpa: Chlorantraniliprole 0.3mL/L or Emamectin 0.4g/L. Leucinodes: Chlorpyrifos 20% EC 2mL/L at damage start.

Prevention

Pheromone traps (6–8/acre). Avoid continuous insecticide sprays — rotate MOA groups. Remove and destroy affected fruits.
