Aphids Infestation in Mustard

Common Causes

• Lipaphis erysimi — mustard aphid — most destructive insect pest
• Dense colonies on young shoots, flower buds
• Secretes honeydew → sooty mould

Treatment

Dimethoate 1.5mL/L. Imidacloprid 0.3mL/L. Spray at 15–20 aphids/plant threshold.

Prevention

Monitor from budding stage. Spray only once if necessary — natural enemies control later.
